Forum Rules

PredictionTalk is an independent community for prediction market traders. These rules exist to maintain a high signal-to-noise ratio, protect members from fraud, and keep the forum useful for everyone.

TL;DR Post quality content. Don't spam. Don't scam. Be respectful. Everything else follows from these principles.

Conduct

1No trolling
Habitually posting inflammatory, off-topic, or obviously false content designed to provoke reactions is prohibited.
2No threats or harassment
Death threats, threats of bodily harm, doxxing, or sustained personal harassment are strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate permanent ban.
3Be constructive
Criticism and disagreement are welcome — prediction markets thrive on different opinions. But your posts must contain substance. «You are wrong» alone gets deleted. «You are wrong because X data shows Y» stays.
4No begging
Do not beg for tokens, tips, merit, or any form of handout.
5No unsolicited private messages
Do not send unsolicited PMs for advertising, promotion, or spam. Users who receive unwanted PMs should report them.

Content Quality

6No low-value posts
Posts must contribute something meaningful. Examples of low-value posts that will be removed:
  • «+1», «Agree», «LOL», «This», «Support!»
  • Quote pyramids (quoting an entire post just to add one word)
  • Generic «great project» type posts without specifics
  • Pointless introductions («Hi I'm new, looking forward to learning»)
7No plagiarism
Copying content from other users, articles, or websites and presenting it as your own is prohibited. Always credit your sources. Quote properly.
8No off-topic posts
Stay on topic within each discussion. If your reply doesn't relate to the thread's subject, start a new discussion instead.
9No AI-generated spam
Mass-posting AI-generated content to farm activity or merit is prohibited. AI can be a useful tool for research, but your posts must reflect genuine understanding and add original value.

Posting Rules

10Language
The main forum language is English. Discussions in other languages should use the appropriate localized boards. Automated/machine translations in local boards are not allowed — posts must be written by a human who understands the language.
11No duplicate posting
Do not post the same content across multiple boards or discussions. Exception: translated versions of your content in local boards.
12No consecutive posts
Do not post multiple times in a row in the same discussion. Edit your existing post instead of adding a new one. Exception: bumps and reserved posts.
13Bumping limit
Maximum 1 bump per 24 hours per discussion. Bumping multiple threads excessively is considered spam.
14Post cooldown
There is a mandatory waiting period between posts, determined by your rank. See the Merit System docs for cooldown details per rank.

Prediction Markets Discussion

15No referral code spam
Do not spam referral links or codes. A referral link in context (e.g. a platform review where you mention your affiliate) is fine. Posting referral links as your sole contribution is not.
16No advertising in others' threads
Do not hijack someone else's discussion to promote your platform, tool, or service. Start your own thread for that.
17No promotion of illegal platforms
Do not promote or link to prediction market platforms operating illegally. Discussion and analysis of regulatory issues is allowed; active promotion of clearly illegal services is not.
18No market manipulation
Coordinated attempts to manipulate prediction market outcomes or prices through organized forum campaigns are prohibited. Share your analysis honestly.
19Disclose your positions
When discussing specific markets or contracts, disclosing your own position is strongly encouraged. This isn't mandatory, but transparency builds trust and helps readers evaluate potential bias.
Good example «I'm long YES on this contract at $0.35. Here's why I think it resolves YES: [analysis]...»

Profiles & Signatures

24Avatar rules
Avatars must not contain NSFW/NSFL content, infringe copyright, or impersonate other users or staff.
25No impersonation
Do not create usernames, avatars, or profiles designed to impersonate other community members, moderators, admins, or public figures in a misleading way.

Accounts

26Multiple accounts
Multiple accounts are allowed but discouraged. Using multiple accounts to upvote your own posts, give yourself merit, manipulate discussions, or evade bans is strictly prohibited and will result in all accounts being banned.
27Ban evasion
Creating new accounts to circumvent a ban is prohibited. If you believe your ban was unjust, contact an admin directly.
28No exploiting forum bugs
If you discover a bug in the forum software, report it to an admin. Exploiting bugs for personal gain is prohibited.

Moderation

29Staff interpretation
Moderators and admins have the right to interpret these rules in context. Rules are meant to be followed in spirit, not just by the letter. Attempting to find loopholes does not protect you from moderation.
30Scams and trust
The forum does not arbitrate trading disputes. We provide the Merit and voting systems for the community to self-regulate trust. Use the forum's reputation systems, do your own research, and never risk more than you can afford to lose.
Why don't we moderate scam accusations? Because moderators taking sides in financial disputes creates more problems than it solves. The community's voting and merit systems are better tools for establishing trust.

Penalties

Violations are handled with a graduated response:

Severity Action Examples
Low Post removed + warning Low-value post, off-topic, minor bumping
Medium Temporary ban (1-30 days) Repeated spam, referral abuse, plagiarism, trolling
High Permanent ban Malicious links, threats, doxxing, ban evasion, scamming
Zero tolerance Posting malware, phishing links, wallet drainers, or death threats results in an immediate permanent ban with no appeal.
Appeals If you believe a moderation action was unjust, contact an admin. Provide context and explain your case calmly. Most bans (except zero-tolerance) can be appealed.
