About
Polymarket is a decentralized prediction-market protocol on Polygon. Users trade YES / NO shares of binary outcome contracts; the winning side resolves to $1.00, the losing side to $0.00. Liquidity is matched off-chain via a CLOB; settlement and custody are on-chain in USDC. Resolution runs on a three-oracle stack: UMA's Optimistic Oracle for text outcomes (elections, sports, news), Chainlink Data Streams + Automation for sub-15-minute crypto markets (since Sept 2025), and Pyth Pro for traditional-asset markets — equities, gold, oil, equity indices (since April 2026). The platform broke into mainstream awareness during the 2024 US election cycle, calling the result ahead of mainstream polling.
